Coming from an animal lover family, dogs are always being a part of my family. My great-grand mother had a heart of compassion towards abandoned dogs. She welcome many abandoned dogs and made them as a family pets. I think I realized where my love for dogs are coming from.

Searching for a "perfect" dog among the pure-breeds to suit my lifestyle was not that easy. Finally I found a perfect match in Labrador Retriever. Fortunately I came to a good breeder. They let me have the best puppy and guide me along the way. They are they first person who told us about Dog Show and encouraged us to show this puppy. "Keiko" is our pride and joy, and marked the beginning of BlackLiss' ascent to success, she is the first local-bred bitch to achieve the Indonesian Championship title.

Today, I am concentrating to show and breed Labrador Retriever. The name "BlackLiss" is an apt description of our purpose to breed the quality and beauty of Labrador Retriever lines. I am deeply fall in love with their good-natured, willingness to please, and clever. Indeed, this breed's love of, and devotion to, their families is heart-warming and endearing.

All of our dogs are raised in our home and properly socialized and interacted with humans and other animals. For us, breeding dog is a big responsibility and should never be undertaken lightly. With planning, careful and selecting breeding, we are aiming to improve and preserve Labrador Retriever's quality, which are type and soundness. We are mainly focusing on breeding black Labradors, but occasionally we have yellow. Because we are so pet-oriented, we are as concerned with the health and temperament of our Labradors as equally as breeding quality and type.

One of my home-breed champion Ina Ch. BlackLiss A Star of The East, is currently the youngest Labrador Retriever Champion in Indonesia (finished her title in tender age of 6 mos), and finished her title with 5 Major CC and was a Multiple Best of Breed and Best of Group winner.

I have been helped by more people than I can remember. I can't mention all the individuals who have offered a helping hand but they'll know who they are. I owe a lot to my mentors:

  • Good breeder and friends, Mr. Wiedjajanto & Mrs. Juniarti Santoso of SS93 Labradors - Indonesia,
    for letting me have Keiko, for your encouraging and guiding from the very beginning and introducing this fascinating sport. We are so lucky to meet you and respected our friendship relation;
  • Dedicated breeder and friend, Mr. Martin Riady of Lambrou Chihuahuas - Indonesia,
    for all of your help, advices, sharing health tips, support, and friendship. We hope we can produce our own "Toby Lab" and "Toby Cocker" like yours. Salute!!
  • Best professional handler and judge,, Mr. Deddy Tjahjono - Indonesia,
    for your valuable tips and tricks of handling;
  • Reputable breeder and judge, Mrs. Julie Bedford of Croftsway Labradors - New Zealand,
    for your valuable advices and opinion about my Labradors.
  • Influential breeder and judge, Mrs. Saudjie & Mr. John Crook, OBE of Balrion at Weathertop Labradors - UK,
    for your kindness of sharing knowledge and wisdom to a beginner like me. I owe you a lot...!!

But I could have done nothing without the constant support and love from Juliet my wife, and Prescia my daughter, and all of our "tail-wagging kids".
